March 2025 Update

We are three months in, and Easter is around the corner. The core group is still strong and committed to the church plant. We’ve been getting together, discussing and dreaming about how FDE is going to impact our community. I am so encouraged as I listen to our group share their hearts, talking about how the gospel continues to shape our lives, loving our neighbor, opening our homes, and discipling others toward maturity in the faith.  These conversations reflect the purpose of our church. You can feel both the excitement and the nervousness as we ask, how are we going to accomplish this?

Engaging in the Community

As I continue to engage in our community, I’ve encountered people with powerful stories who are looking for a place to worship.

One is a local barber who knows about God but has walked away from the church. As I shared the vision and mission of FDE with him, he began to open up about his need to return to fellowship and restore his broken relationship with the Lord.

Another encounter was with a local mechanic. I spoke with him about our church plant and shared why we are strongly considering becoming a bilingual church, especially as we seek to reach Hispanic families. He expressed
that this is exactly what his family has been looking for, a church with good doctrine that is also bilingual, so his whole family can engage. More and more, God is showing us the needs of our neighbors and familiesstruggling to find a sound church where both languages are a priority. A church where family dynamics are strengthened as we gather to worship on Sundays.

Looking Ahead

As we look ahead, we recognize how crucial your prayers and support are in this season. We are connecting with churches and individuals who believe in the mission of church planting and long to be part of something eternal—something that will impact families, communities, and future generations.
We invite you to continue praying for us: For wisdom and strength as we build and prepare. For the Spirit’s leading as we connect with people in our city. For open hearts to the gospel message. For God’s provision and timing in every step. Together, let’s plant Fuente de Esperanza—a church for the city, for the nations, and for the glory of God.

Grateful for your prayers,

Avel Rivera
